Time Travellers a huge success

From the Middle Ages to the WW2 via the Tudors, Victorians and WW1 all the ages were represented at our event on August 1st. We welcomed a group of re-enactors from the reign of Edward VI including a representative of the Bishop of Lichfield charged with ensuring the Catholic aspects of church worship were being removed from the church and a group of parishioners raising funds for the changes required to the building. Nothing changes!

Thank you to the teams who supported children’s events, crafts, the butterfly and moth hunt and refreshments. Particular thanks to those volunteers who dressed in period costumes and answered questions about “their” time in history. A special thank you to the Little Morton Singers who treated us to a lunchtime concert covering madrigals and other pieces from William Byrd to Ivor Novello. A joyous performance.

Welcome to 1549

WW1 transformed rural life with many men at the front and the wounded treated in country houses including Sandon Hall. Thank you Laraine and David for this tribute to those who served.
